Car wrapping is the process of covering a car in a thin, pliable vinyl. Often used as a branding exercise, car wrapping allows you to utilise the surface of your car as an advertising space.

Colour change is a similar process of covering a vehicle in vinyl, however requires a few more steps to achieve a paint like finish. More often than not, it involves the application of coloured vinyl, as opposed to a digitally printed vinyl which would be used to display graphics. There are hundreds of colours and textures to choose from including matte and satin finishes.

  1. Keep your car but change the colour
  2. Change the colour as often as you like
  3. Cheaper than a respray
  4. Protect your paintwork, adding value when you come to sell
  5. Sell your car with its original colour
  6. Easily achieve a matte finish

A full wrap on a hatchback will start from £1800 + VAT. The cost will increase with size, the complexity of the project and the material choice. We never compromise on any aspect of the wrapping process and we take the utmost care when working on your vehicle and this will reflect in our work.

Car wraps are not permanent and are a temporary colour change. Most types of vinyl have a life-span of approximately five years.

It’s not easy to remove a vinyl wrap, after all it needs to withstand all weather together with the daily stresses and strains of being on the road. Generally, the longer the vinyl has been in place, the longer it will take to remove. Nonetheless, vinyl is designed to be a form of paint protection and therefore the process of removal will not damage your paintwork – assuming the paintwork was in a good condition when the vinyl was applied. Due to the complexity of the disassembly it is advised that you have any wrap proffesionally removed to ensure it is done correctly.

If your paintwork is of a good standard when the wrap is applied, then the vinyl will not damage your paintwork.

No – a vinyl wrap will not hide the imperfections of your paintwork. The vinyl itself is very thin and so defects such as chips, key lines, rust and poor paintwork will show through. If any body work is required prior to a wrap, Amigo Wraps can advise on this and have the work done for you to ensure a smooth wrapping process.

A wrap is intended to be a short-term solution to colour change. A respray on the other hand, is very permanent. A wrap allows you to enjoy your car in any given colour, but then remove the wrap if you wish, for example, to re-sell it in the original paintwork. For instance, it would be easier to sell a red Ferrari than a blue one.

Yes you can. Roofs, mirrors, dechroming are all popular services that we offer to enhance the look of a vehicle without the larger price tag of a full wrap.

Yes – it is a legal requirement to inform the DVLA of a colour change. The process involves updating your registration certificate (V5C).

All work includes a one-year warranty that covers material and installation failure. Should there be any issues, please do contact us. If there is an issue and you or a third party attempts to rectify it, your warranty will be void. Any issues should be reported to us as soon as possible and we will arrange for you to return so that it can be rectified.

The warranty does not cover paint failure, damaged wrap due to physical damage, failing material due to lack of/inappropriate care. If any aftermarket parts have been fitted, we will not warranty their fitment unless they are factory OEM parts or we have supplied the parts or we have explicitly said we would in writing. The warranty also does not cover failure / damage due to panels rubbing, or general wear and tear. Should any issues occur that aren’t covered by warranty we will however assess the situation still (crash damage, stone chip damage, lacquer peel / paint issues etc). Amigo Wraps retains the right to assess any issues and decide whether it’s caused by inappropriate installation or poor aftercare. If there are any issues / warranty work is needed, you must notify us as soon as you notice. We will then book you a slot asap to come in to have the issue rectified. We will not come to you, the car will have to be brought to our workshop in order for us to carry out the work in the correct environment with our tools and facilities. The warranty is only valid if this document has been signed upon collection of the vehicle. By signing this document you also accept that you have had the opportunity to inspect the work carried out and that you are happy with the results and that we have caused no damage to your vehicle.

By paying the balance and signing the documentation, you agree to these terms.

Please avoid washing the areas that we have worked on for the next 1-2 weeks as the film needs to set. After this period, you may wash the areas but be very careful as the wrap is still hardening. It is also important to keep the vehicle out of direct sunlight for the first couple of weeks. Extreme heat or cold may affect the material. We only recommend hand washing the vehicle. Automated car washes are not recommended and may void your warranty. Refrain from using jet washes, especially high pressure or up close as this may damage your wrap. Equally, some chemicals and products may damage the wrap; please ask for further information if you are unsure.

Our window tints come with a lifetime warranty that covers installation. If you have had window tints installed, do not put the windows down for 48 hours to allow the film to dry properly. The legal limit for front windows is 70%. Any tint film over this amount cannot be used on public highways. We will only install the film on the basis that you will not drive the car on public roads – only private property. By paying your invoice and signing this paperwork you acknowledge that you have been made aware of this.
